Business tycoon and management simulator fans have always dreamed of having a true MMO that utilises the mechanics from their favourite games. While some titles have come along to offer the same gameplay with a multiplayer twist, they’ve never hit the mark when it comes to it. Now though, a new game called Econia has take it to a whole new level, the MMO genre.
What is Econia?
Econia is a business tycoon MMO. It blends the strategies employed in tycoon games, the strategy genre, and city builders all into one. It’s been out on mobile for a while, and PC launch is due in July 2021. Since it has quite a niche appeal, it’s not for everyone, but for those who enjoy this sort of game, it’s a breath of fresh air.
Players need to start their business, build it up, and gain investment. Then they need to please customers, whilst attracting new ones, buy and sell items, and manage their employees. There are also customers and dwellers to consider, all of which plays into the statistics this game offers you.
There are dozens of reports to analyse in this game, and I mean dozens. If you’re a sucker for data, this game is going to scratch that itch like nothing else. This data is important though, because it will inform decisions you make later in your business.
The thing that makes Econia really different is the fact that other players will influence the world that you all occupy, as you do. The economy resembles the real world economy, and as such, things are going to shift to or against you depending on what other players do. This means that you can change how well an opponent’s business is doing just by making a single decision.
The core idea is that the world is completely unpredictable. The more you and others play, the more interesting things get. It’s just like the real world of business. You can work with others, pushing the economy in a united direction for the greater good of everyone.
However, you could also screw everyone else over by taking the economy in a different direction. This could see you undercut competitors, and even steal their offerings. It’s all about choice, and if you choose to be a good business owner, then the whole world will benefit. If you’re selfish though, only you will succeed.
It’s not all bad though, you can benefit from the downfall of other players. You just need to capitalise on their losses. Anyone who is savvy with business tycoon games will see the opportunities as they emerge. Everyone else will fall by the wayside.
This is an MMO unlike any other. If games like Fortnite and Destiny 2 overwhelm you with the wealth of content to grind through, this is a relaxing and strategic alternative. You can take your passion for business to the next level and invest in a game that checks all of your boxes. It’s free-to-play, and you can pick it up right now.
