Building a wonder and going for this victory condition takes a lot of time and planning as you cannot build a wonder until you reach age 4. In order to get a wonder victory, you need to build a wonder once you get to age 4. Building a wonder takes time, but you can have more villagers building the wonder in order to make it much faster. Once the wonder is built, you need to defend it for 15 minutes in order to win the game.
Once the wonder is built, your enemies are going to be notified and a timer will show up on the screen. At this point, enemies are going to aggressively attack you in order to destroy your wonder and keep you from winning. Note that wonders are very expensive and you will need 3000 of each resource in order to be able to build one.

If you are new to the game then we recommend using the English civilization. This is a great civilization for beginners and has defensive perks. Which is ideal for a wonder victory in Age of Empires 4. This is a defensive faction and will allow you to get resources such as food without the fear of being attacked by invaders.
The English civilization has buff for food gathering from farms and building farms is much cheaper as well. You can get an upgrade later on that rewards you with gold from farms which is a great addition as well.
As you need defensive structures as the English civilization and you need to protect your wonder from enemies, you are going to need to get a lot of stone. Start mining stone early on and get the necessary upgrades in order to mine stone faster. If you have access to gold then you can buy stone from the market.
If you are playing against the AI then you should aim for getting 40 villagers for resource gathering but if you are playing against an aggressive player then you can produce more.
Make sure that you start building the wonder in a space that is easy to defend. You can build walls around the wonder for protection. You can also build a keep nearby in order to have an extra layer of protection. The keep has high HP, can attack and produce units. So it is very useful. Use the keep upgrades in order to strengthen it further and allow it to deal more damage.
You should also have a small force ready around your wonder in case the enemy is able to bring down your wall. We also recommend having your longbowmen on the walls in order to shoot down arrows upon incoming invaders. You should also upgrade your units in order to increase their HP and deal more damage.
