Earlier this week, Ubisoft revealed the upcoming Rainbow Six Siege and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint crossover event known as Operation Amber Sky. It’s the first time these two forces have come together within the latest Ghost Recon game, and should make for an explosive gameplay experience. However, right now details are short on what this event is. That’s why we’ve put this guide to everything we know so far together.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Operation Amber Sky

The event was revealed with the following trailer. It depicts heroes from both Rainbow Six Siege and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.

The event is based around a gas called Amber Ruin. Someone is trying to get it off of the island of Auroa, and it’s down to the Ghosts, with the help of the Seige Operators Ash, Finka, and Thatcher, to stop it.

The event will start on January 21, and will last for just ten days. It’s one of the shortest in the game’s history. Apparently players will have the chance to take on the role of each of these Siege Operators whilst the event is live. How that works remains to be seen. It’s likely that this feature will also remain in the game’s settings as something that can be turned on after the event is over.

Ubisoft has added that there will be eleven exclusive items available for players to earn during the event. This includes a number of uniforms, and an underbarrel shotgun.

The event is also going live as a free weekend for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint gets underway. That free weekend starts on January 21 and lasts until January 25. It’ll give new players a chance to see what the game is like when the best events are available to play in it.

Interestingly, Rainbow Six Quarantine was scheduled for a release early last year, but was delayed indefinitely. The game appeared to share similar visuals aspects to this event. Of course, it was also linked to the Operators of Rainbow Six Siege. It will be interesting to see if there are any references to the game in this event while it’s live.

What to Expect

If past Ghost Recon: Breakpoint events are anything to go by, this even will completely change the island of Auroa for a short time. It will probably introduce a new type of enemy for players to fight against. There should also be some exclusive missions that are linked to an in-game battle pass for the event.

As for activities, the most likely situation is that players will need to find sources of this gas and disarm or destroy them before they can be shipped. A lot of focus will also be on finding those responsible for them and stopping them for good.

That’s everything we know about Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Operation Amber Sky at the time of writing. More information will probably be revealed over the next few days, so keep an eye out for more on The Centurion Report. This is definitely one to play the game for.
