As with every month in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, there are new bugs and fish for August 2020. This month doesn’t bring quite as many new bugs and fish as July 2020 did, but there’s still a good amount of change.

Before you head out in a panic, please don’t worry too much about catching all of these new bugs and fish for August soon. You have an entire month to catch all of them.

This month we actually see a change for both the northern and southern hemispheres. Let’s have a look at what’s arrived on your island this month.

New Bugs and Fish for August 2020 Northern Hemisphere

Fish: Soft-shelled Turtle – You can find these guys between 4pm and 9am in any river on your island.

Fish: Moray Eel – These guys are super common, and can be found in the sea at any time of day.

Fish: Ray – Between the hours of 4am and 9pm you’ll be able to find Rays, not fish called Ray, in the sea.

Bug: Migratory Locust – These guys might be responsible for a bunch of plagues, but you need them. They’ll appear on the ground between 8am and 7pm.

Bug: Rice Grasshopper – Slightly less annoying, these lively bugs will be on the ground, also between 8am and 7pm.

Bug: Walker Cicada – Between 8am and 5pm you’ll be able to pick these Cicadas up on any trees on your island.

Sea Creature: Flatworm – You’ll need to scour the bottom of the ocean for Flatworms between 4pm and 9am if you want to catch one.

Bug: Tiger Beetle – You’ll find Tiger Beetles on the ground all day every day. Honestly you’ll be sick of them by the end of the season.

Those are all of the new bugs and fish coming to your island in August 2020. These should all be live right now, so you’ll have a fantastic chance of getting all of them if you go out and look for them immediately.

As I said before, don’t worry too much about picking them all up right away, these bugs and fish will be around for the whole month. However, if you’re someone that can only play the game at weekends, I suggest you put as much time into getting themas you possibly can.

For those in the southern hemisphere, don’t panic. The reason that you’re not getting many new bugs and fish is that it’s currently winter. (https://primer.com.au/) You’ll be given more variety when you hit summer in a few months.

I think that this might be the best month for anyone who struggles to collect all the bugs and fish.

Usually it’s quite hard to work out how to get them all. Right now though, it’s really easy to work out when to grab them, and where.

This is probably the start of a decline in new creatures for the northern hemisphere. It’s also probably the beginning of a rise in variety for the southern hemisphere. I can’t wait to see what we get next month already.

Let us know if you’ve already caught everything in the comments.
