It seems as though the most popular Villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons are the octopus Villagers. There are three of these in the game, Zucker, Marina, and Octavian. In this Animal Crossing: New Horizons Octavian Villager Guide we’re going to cover everything there is to know about this specific Villager, and hopefully shed a light on why you should have them on your island.
Who is Octavian?
His name is actually derived from Giant Octavius, who was the first emperor of Rome. He’s bright red, and unmissable. This is because he’s based on the Pacific Red Octopus. However, there is a white “X” mark on the back of his head to separate him from other similar octopi. If this guy is on your island, you’ll know about it because of his reputation, and how everyone feels about him.
Up until Animal Forest e+, Octavian was the only Octopus Villager in the game. Then Zucker and Marina were added, so he has at least a little company as he goes about his days.
Birthday
Octavian’s birthday is September 20. You’d be wise to head over to his house on this day, otherwise he might hold a grudge against you. He’ll be there celebrating and enjoying the day with all who pop by. On top of a cake, you might easily advance your relationship with him. Trust me, you need this with the crankiest of octopus Villagers in the game.
Octavian’s Personality
Octavian is a grumpy Villager with the cranky personality type. As such, he’s always going to be grouch or agitated. Don’t worry though, that’s just who he is. If you disagree with him, he’s going to get angry with you. He may also refuse to do you a favour as a result.
Since Octavian is cranky, he’s obsessed with his hobby. He’ll challenge you to competitions around it if you let him.
While he gets on with jocks and snooty Villagers, as well as other cranky Villagers, he’ll find it very hard to get on with peppy Villagers. He will also like the occasional lazy Villager, but really he just doesn’t have time for anyone but himself. Octavian’s House
The exterior of Octavian’s house is very normal. There’s nothing out of the ordinary to make you think that this is the house of an octopus. The interior is spectacular though. You really do need to see it to believe it. There’s a UFO, a moon, and various other space stuff all around the place. The wallpaper is also a starry sky, as if the space junk wasn’t enough. Clearly, Octavian is obsessed with something, see if you can identify what.
