There is one achievement in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint that is driving players absolutely crazy. This is, of course, the Heart of Darkness achievement. To unlock it, you need to head into the world of Auroa to find a total of eight carillons. Four of these look like wind chimes, while the other four look like bells. Not only is this ridiculously hard, there’s a bug that seems to affect it as well. what follows is our definitive guide to unlocking the Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Heart of Darkness achievement.

Before we even start to get into the locations of each carillon you’ll need to find, we need to go over some ground rules. This achievement is incredibly easy to break, and no one knows why. However, we do know how you can unlock it without angering the game and causing the process of completing the achievement to fail.

How to Interact with a Carillon

There is no prompt to activate a carillon once you find it. Therefore, you never truly know when you’ve actually interacted with or activated one. The rule of thumb is that you need to head to each one individually, and stand by it for a few moments. I’d say you need to give this two minutes at least. Stand near the carillon, and move to another nearby location, and stay there for another 30 seconds or so.

No Fast Travel

It seems to be that fast travel can break your progress in unlocking this achievement. This could be because the game registers you into a new session if you fast travel too far. It may also just be a glitch in the code. Regardless, all those who have unlocked this achievement report that they did so in one session, with no fast travel at all. That means you need to use a vehicle to travel between each carillon.
