Animal Crossing: New Horizons Toy Day is on December 24 each and every year. It’s part of the Christmas celebrations that players will see in the game, and they play into the rest of them too. It’s something that everyone in Animal Crossing: New Horizons should be taking part in because you can access a lot of seasonal rewards with every little effort on your part. In this guide, we’ll cover just some of the activities and rewards you can take part in and earn.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Toy Day Start and End Times
So, you know that the day begins on December 24, Christmas Eve, but there are more specific timings than this. The day will last from 5 am on December 24, until 5 am on December 25. This gives you a full 24 hours to get up and play the game, activate the event, and even speak to the event vendor, Jingle.
This is interesting because it means that Toy Day has much longer operating hours than other recent events in the game have had. This includes Turkey Day and Halloween.
Deliver Presents
The reason that Toy Day has such long hours of being live is that it’s a hefty event. It requires you to get up and talk to every single Villager on your island if you want to get all of the available rewards. This might be a little easier in 2020 since many of us can’t do what we would usually do for Christmas. It’s still not an easy task by any standards though.
This does mean that you’re going to need to play the game during some normal hours of the day, and not the crazy hours you might play in the middle of the night or early morning. You need to catch all of your Villagers while they’re awake. If you don’t you won’t get all of the rewards that are on offer.
Give Gifts
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, you had to keep an eye out for your Villagers providing hints about what sort of gifts they wanted to receive on Toy Day. You then needed to ensure you had them so that you could deliver them on the day.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, there’s no such mechanic. Jingle is going to provide all of the presents that you need to deliver. All you have to do is pick them up and deliver them. It’s way less exciting than New Leaf’s equivalent of the event, but it’s a lot less stressful too.
However, there’s a bonus option once you’ve delivered all of the presents to Villagers on your island. You can choose to exchange your gift with theirs, if you feel inclined to do so. It will net you something a little different, but you may also love your present anyway.
Jingle’s Goods
There are five items that you can get from Jingle over the course of the day. You’ll need to follow the instructions outlined below though.
- Festive Wrapping Paper – Speak to Jingle
- Toy Day Stockings – Give Jingle some Festive Wrapping Paper
- Gift Pile – Deliver presents to over half of all the Villagers on your island
- Toy Day Sleigh – Deliver a present to all of your island’s Villagers
- Jingle’s Photo – Hang up Toy Day Stockings inside your home, and interact with them on Christmas Day (December 25)
That’s everything you need to know about Toy Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Let us know how you get on with it in the comments.
